Handel’s Messiah at Strathmore

National Philharmonic Chorale Artistic Director Stan Engelbretson will conduct the National Philharmonic in Handel’s “Messiah” on Saturday, December 8 at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda. Additional performances include December 22 and 23. The concert will feature the National Philharmonic’s nearly 200 voice all-volunteer Chorale, as well as soloists Danielle Talamentes (sopran), Magdalena Wor (mezzo-soprano), Matthew Smith (tenor) and Kevin Deas (Bass). A free pre-concert lecture will be offered at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday and December 22 and at 1:45 p.m. on December 23. Tickets are $28-$81. Ages 7-17 are admitted free.
