Groundbreaking Ceremony at Wheaton High School (Photos)
Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) officials and community leaders will join Wheaton High School staff and students today (Oct. 30) at 10 a.m. to celebrate the groundbreaking for the new Wheaton High School. The revitalization/expansion project will replace the current school, which was built in 1954, and will increase the school’s capacity by more than 250 students. The new Wheaton High School is expected to open in August 2015.Board of Education President Christopher S. Barclay, MCPS Superintendent Joshua Starr, County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Nancy Navarro, County Councilmember Valerie Ervin and Wheaton High School Principal Bennie Green will present remarks at the ceremony.
Wheaton High School is located at 12601 Dalewood Drive, Silver Spring.
