Grilling Season: Safety Officials Remind Residents to Use Caution

The number one cause of fires is unattended cooking which doesn’t exclude grilles, according to Pete Piringer, spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

“In the last couple of days, we’ve already had a few grill fires and deck fires,” he said.

Since temperatures are rising, fire and rescue officials said they are expecting more people to be outside with their grills and are urging residents to use caution by creating a circle of safety when utilizing outdoor grills.
