Governor Orders State Flag to Half Staff on August 28
Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the Maryland State Flag to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, August 28 from sunrise to sunset to honor Judge Lloyd L. Simpkins, who died on August 24.
Judge Simpkins served as Secretary of State from 1961 to 1967 and served in the House of Delegates from 1950 to 1958 where he was chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Judiciary Committee and the Legislative Council.
