Governor Hogan Appoints Koch, Sabett and Gelber to District Court
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has announced the appointments of Sherri Koch, Marina Sabett, and Rand Gelber to the Montgomery County District Court.
The governor’s appointments were made after reviewing submissions from the judicial nominating commission.
“After conducting a thorough and comprehensive vetting process, I am honored to appoint Ms. Koch, Ms. Sabett, and Mr. Gelber to the Montgomery County District Court,” said Hogan. “These individuals have demonstrated an exceptional understanding of our legal process and a firm commitment to upholding the law. I am confident that they will be strong advocates for justice in our state.”
Sherri Koch is currently a senior prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit of the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. She has served her entire legal career as an assistant state’s attorney for Montgomery County. Koch received her bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Marina Sabett is currently an administrative law judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings, where she has served since 2010. For more than a decade, she served as a litigator for Venable, LLP, where she had a civil trial practice. Sabett received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University and her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Rand Gelber has been a solo practitioner since 1991. Prior to starting his own practice, he worked as an associate with Lawrence S. Jacobs, P.C. and Geoffrey B. Gilbert & Associates, P.A. Gelber received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the Southwestern University School of Law.
