Government Lessons on Location (PHOTOS)
More than 40 Montgomery County students on Jan. 29 participated in a mentoring day at the Montgomery County Council office building in Rockville, sponsored by the Task Force on Mentoring.
The mentors are students from Springbrook High School and Julius West Middle School. The students who are mentored throughout the year attend Broad Acres Elementary School.
The mentoring program is headed by John Smith, a former employee at the Council office.
Among the highlights of the day was a lesson on how local government operates conducted by Delphine Harriston of the Council staff.
