Gov. Hogan Confirms Three Montgomery County Residents Test Positive for Coronavirus

Coronavirus update from Gov. Hogan

Gov. Larry Hogan  announced Thursday evening that three Montgomery County residents have tested positive for coronavirus. Hogan declared a state of emergency in Maryland.

All three patients contracted the virus while traveling overseas and are in good condition, Hogan said.

“I encourage all Marylanders not to panic, but to take this seriously and to stay informed as we continue to provide updates,” he said.

“The state’s Public Health Laboratory in Baltimore has confirmed the first three positive cases of novel coronavirus in Maryland. The patients, who contracted the virus while traveling overseas, are in good condition. We have been actively preparing for this situation over the last several weeks across all levels of government. I encourage all Marylanders not to panic, but to take this seriously and to stay informed as we continue to provide updates.”

Can they please say where they traveled? Connecting airports would also be helpful. Would help others consider the need for their travel plans to the same area and maybe not risk bringing more virus home to MOCO
