Goshen Crossing Liquor and Wine Reopens Following COVID-19 Precaution

Update (April 26): The Goshen Crossing Liquor and Wine store in Gaithersburg reopened April 23 following a temporary closure. Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) closed the store when an employee exhibited COVID-19 symptoms and was tested for the disease. After conducting contact tracing, local health officials asked additional store employees to test and quarantine until COVID-19 test results were completed.  ABS reopened the store after all test results came back negative.

Original post (April 21): Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) has temporarily closed its Goshen Crossing Liquor and Wine store in Gaithersburg after an employee presented COVID-19 symptoms and additional employees were told to quarantine.

The employee stayed home with a fever on Monday and last worked at the liquor and wine store, located at 20004 Goshen Rd, on Saturday. The employee has tested negative for COVID-19, according to a press release.

Out of an abundance of caution, local health officials conducted contact tracing and directed additional employees to quarantine until they receive their COVID-19 test results. This resulted in a staffing shortage and caused the store to close on Tuesday.

If any COVID-19 test return positive, employees will quarantine for 10 days and a specialized team will disinfect the store before reopening. The deep cleaning will include chemical fogging and the wiping of products and high contact surfaces.
