Good Counsel Wins 6th Consecutive Speech Title
Congratulations to Our Lady of Good Counsel High School (OLGC) for winning the DC/Virginia state championship in Speech for the Washington-Arlington Catholic Forensic League on March 16. This is the team’s sixth consecutive title.
The league recognizes the top six speakers in each competitive event. These students as well as other qualifiers will now move on to National Finals on Memorial Day weekend in Philadelphia.

Oratorical Declamation | Jack Elmendorf ’16 – State Champion; Robby Cummins ’15- third place; Jennifer Ampey ’15 – fifth place.
Dramatic Performance | Neal Davidson ’14 – second place; Sierra Decker ’13 – third place, Abby Wyatt ’14 – sixth place.
Duo Interpretation | The team of Jimmy Stubbs ’13 and Moira Redmond ’13 – State Champions; the team of Brian Kelley ’14 and Amanda Nwaba ’14 – fifth place; the team of Tara Shepherd ’15 and Francesca Rowe ’15 – sixth place.
Extemporaneous Speaking | Cassidy Burke ’14 – fourth place; Robby Cummins ’15 – fifth place.
Oral Interpretation | Michelle Odonkor ’14 – State Champion; Neal Davidson ’14 – second place; Oumou Traore ’14 – fifth place.
Original Oratory | Tanique Philogene ’14 – second place; Vincent Troutner ’13 – fifth place; Sasha Lenus ’14 – sixth place.
