Glenstone Opens New Environmental Center, Extends Ride On Bus Arrangement

The Glenstone Museum in Potomac has been packing them in and gaining a growing reputation around the world since re-opening last October. Today, the museum announced the opening of a new 7,200-square-foot building that embodies the latest thinking in sustainability in an effort to become more green.

Attendees at today’s announcement included County Executive Marc Elrich and the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Environmental Protection, Ben Grumbles.MCM’s Joe Yasharoff spoke with Glenstone’s director and chief curator, Emily Wei Rales, about the new environmental center and the Ride On bus announcement.

Glenstone is open Thursday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations are required, but admission to the museum is free. Reservations typically book out three months in advance and the museum opens up reservations on a month to month basis.  July reservations will be released on May 1 at 10 a.m.
