Artwork from members of the National Capital Art Glass Guild will be on display at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery for a free month-long exhibit from March 30 – April 25.

Meet the artists at an opening reception from 3-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30. The free reception will include music by Jerry Roman, The Piano Man, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

The National Capital Art Glass Guild (NCAGG) is a community of artists, educators, collectors and enthusiasts interested in fused glass, stained glass, blown glass, lampworking and all other forms of art glass.

The show is juried by Giselle Huberman, President of the James Renwick Alliance and collector of contemporary glass, wood and ceramic art, Susan Klauk, former Director of the Arts Afire Gallery, and Julie Farrell, Director of the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery. The exhibition will showcase over 120 works of glass art by 40 NCAGG members and also includes “The Secret Life of Glass Artists”, a smaller exhibition that celebrates creativity and inspiration by bringing a glass artist’s studio to the Glenview Mansion, displaying materials, tools, equipment, and resources used by artists. The show also includes the Jurors Panel on April 17, 2014, 7:30 – 9 p.m., during which the exhibition’s jurors will discuss the art glass jury process and the criteria for this exhibit, and provide their personal views concerning collecting art glass.

The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery is located at 603 Edmonston Dr. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. The gallery is closed on weekends and holidays.
