GGCC 11th Annual Wine Tasting Held
The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce held its 11th Annual Wine Tasting at the Kentlands Mansion in Gaithersburg. Over 90 area business leaders -including city of Gaithersburg Councilmembers Cathy Drzyzgula, Henry Marraffa, Mike Sesma and Ryan Spiegel – attended.
Pepe & Pinky Rodgers, Owners of Pinky & Pepe’s Grape Escape and the wine tasting wine sponsor for the third year in a row, with Nathan Dart, Dart Homes Realty; at the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber’s 11th Annual Wine Tasting held at the Kentlands Mansion on May 22, 2014.
The event sponsors included The city of Gaithersburg, DrinkMore Water, the Melting Pot Gaithersburg, Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape and The Prime Choice Caterers.
This year’s wine tasting featured a guided wine tasting tutorial of five featured wines compliments of Pinky & Pepe of Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape. Also attendees received a special discount coupon to use that week in the Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape Kentlands store.
The menu – prepared by GGCC Member The Prime Choice Caterers– included Crudité Shots, Mediterranean Torte, Baked Brie with Black Raspberry Melba Sauce and Toasted Pecans; Lime Chicken Satay; Sliced Tenderloin Canapés; Miniature Avocado and Crab Salad Puffs & Ahi Tuna Spoons.
DrinkMore Water provided bottle water – of course- and rinse stations. The Melting Pot Gaithersburg provided chocolate covered strawberries that satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth.
The GGCC is active in providing business-to-business networking opportunities throughout the year: a collective voice in local, regional, and state legislative affairs, professional development opportunities and other services that enhance the business environment.

Laura is the Director of Events & Marketing for the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce - a member-based organization of businesses that have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic, commercial and industrial progress in our communities. At the GGCC, we typically have around 30 events each year including: breakfasts, lunches, after-five's, ribbon cuttings and special events. The consensus is we have high quality events with good energy. In 2012, we had over 2,040 people visit our events. Most our events are free to Members so securing sponsorships for all events. Additionally, I am responsible for planning networking, overseeing the budget and marketing of all events in order to make them successful. Lastly, I coordinate all marketing and communication efforts of the GGCC including weekly email blasts, its quarterly newsletter, all social media platforms, media relations and community outreach.
