Germantown Woman Wins Prestigious Hair Stylist Award

“A dream come true,” is how 23-year-old Madison Pizer describes her reaction to winning the HotShot Student Award during the annual Behind the Chair Hair Awards in San Antonio last month.

According to the Germantown Pulse, Behind the Chair is one of the largest publications for hair stylists in the country.  Staff organize and produce a trade show each year where hair stylists are recognized during an awards ceremony in various categories.

To enter the contest, hair stylists post photos of their work on Instagram using specific hashtags. For Pizer, she entered the contest using #BTCOneShotStudent2018.

“I entered my photo in March and found out in August that I had made the cut of top 25, from more than 300,000 entries from more than 80 countries,” she told staff at The Germantown Pulse “The staff of judges from Behind the Chair picked the finalists. In my category, 25 people were nominated.”

SO GRATEFUL ?? I am currently sitting in the San Antonio Airport preparing to make my way back to DC, just reflecting on my weekend. There is not a word to describe the way I feel right now, but the best way to describe it is like I have my own Sun in my heart and it’s radiating throughout my whole body. Make sense? I have learned a plethora of new techniques and grown as an artist in such a short period of time. BEYOND GRATEFUL • I am so excited to share that I have been choosen as a nominee for BTC ONE SHOT in San Antonio Texas ? the moment I began school this was one of my goals. I am so grateful for @marybehindthechair @behindthechair_com for the amazing opportunity to showcase my work as a student. I am so eternally grateful to @sharonriser and everyone at @pmthetemple for giving me such expansive knowledge, opportunity, and support throughout (and still) while I’m at school ?
