Police said Christopher Lee Guzman, age 29, of the 11400 block of Stoney Point Place in Germantown was arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of theft.

According to police, one bank robbery occurred on Oct. 15 at the TD Bank located at 19501 Frederick Road in Germantown and the other occurred on Oct. 25 at the Capital One bank at 12 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg.

Guzman is currently being held on a $300,000 bond.

Police say Guzman was developed as a suspect in the bank robberies after detectives provided photos of the suspect to the media (“See “Bank Robbery in Gaithersburg (Photos)”)

Police credit an anonymous tip received through Crime Solvers that provided the address where the suspect was living.

Police say they determined Guzman was residing at the address provided by the tipster.

Detectives say they obtained a photo of Guzman from a previous arrest and matched the photo to the surveillance photos that had been obtained from each bank. Based on the above, the arrest warrant was issued for Guzman.
