Georgia Avenue Ramp to I-495 Inner Loop Closing Tonight for Repairs

The State Highway Administration is closing the Georgia Avenue ramp to the Interstate 495 Inner Loop tonight in Silver Spring for pavement repairs.

According to the SHA, the closure will take place at 9 p.m. on Tuesday night.  The ramp should reopen by 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

Drivers should plan for additional travel time and use northbound Colesville Road as an alternate route.

Crews plan to remove the existing deteriorated pavement at this location and apply temporary cold-patch asphalt.

Once warmer temperatures return this spring, crews will return to the ramp to perform permanent asphalt repairs.
