GCAAR Hosts 8th Congressional District Candidates Forum (PHOTOS)

The six Democrats running for the 8th Congressional District in Maryland participated in a candidates forum on Oct. 1st hosted by the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors in Rockville. MyMCMedia’s Sonya Burke moderated the event.

The candidates included David Anderson, Kumar Barve, Ana Sol-Guiterrez, Will Jawando, Kathleen Matthews and Jamie Raskin.

For nearly two hours, the candidates fielded questions on housing, healthcare, transportation, economic development, climate change and more. It was the second time in 24 hours the six candidates were in the same room together. On Wednesday night, an environmental candidates forum was held in Silver Spring.

The Primary Election is scheduled for April 26, 2016. Congressman Chris Van Hollen currently represents the 8th District. Van Hollen is running for Senate in 2016.
