Gas Station Robbery in Silver Spring (Photos)
Detectives from Montgomery County Police are investigating an armed robbery of a gas station that occurred on Nov. 14 at the Exxon gas station located at 8301 Fenton Street, Silver Spring. On Jan. 16, investigators released surveillance photos of three suspects and the car they used to flee from the gas station and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
On Nov. 14, at approximately 2:42 p.m., officers responded to the Exxon gas station located at 8301 Fenton Street for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Police say that one suspect entered the gas station, looked around the store for a short time, and exited the store without purchasing anything. A short time later, the suspect re-entered the store accompanied by two additional suspects.
The first suspect and the third suspect displayed handguns and demanded that the two gas station cashiers open the cash registers and the safe. Two of the suspects then obtained money from the cash registers while the third suspect obtained cash from the safe. All three suspects then exited the store and entered a white GMC vehicle.
According to police, suspect one is described as a black male, 5’9″ tall, and weighing approximately 175 pounds. He was wearing a gray sweatsuit, black shoes, and a brown hat. Suspect two is described as a black male, 5’9″ tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie, gray New Balance sneakers, a black mask, and black gloves. He was also wearing a reflective neon green or yellow traffic vest over his clothing. Suspect three is described as a black male, 5’9″ tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing black or brown shoes with red laces, a black mask, and black gloves. He was also wearing a reflective neon green or yellow traffic vest with an orange stripe over his clothing.
