Gas Leak, Portion of Fields Road Closed

Montgomery County fire and rescue crews are on the scene of a major gas leak in the 9700 block of Fields Road in Gaithersburg.

Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer is reporting that a high pressure line was struck by a backhoe. He said some nearby areas are being evacuated as a precaution.

Fields Road is closed between Rio Boulevard and Washingtonian Boulevard.
