Gas Leak in Germantown

Montgomery County police and fire rescue crews were called to a site in front of the future Wegman’s  store in Germantown at 7:16 a.m. on July 31 for the report of a four-inch main gas line struck by workers.

On his Twitter account, Assistant Fire Chief Scott Graham said there were no injuries in the incident and Washington Gas was called to the scene.

A Montgomery County police spokesperson said there were some road closures during the incident at both Seneca Meadows Parkway and  Route 118  and Seneca Meadows Parkway and Observation Drive. Shortly after 9 a.m., police reported they had cleared the scene.
