Gaithersburg Skate Park to Open for 2016 Season on March 26

The Gaithersburg Skate Park is scheduled to open for the 2016 season at noon on March 26, just in time for Spring Break.

According to a news release, during Spring Break (March 26 to April 3) the park will be open from 3 p.m. to sunset on weekdays and from noon to sunset on weekends. In April, the park will be open on Fridays from 3 p.m. to sunset and from noon to sunset on weekends. Regular ours will resume in May and park hours will be from 3 p.m. to sunset on weekdays and from noon to sunset on weekends.

The skate park is open to skateboarders, inline skaters, and individuals with BMX bikes of all ages and skill levels. Individuals are required to sign liability in order to use the skate park. Participants are are also required to wear helmets because of safety regulations. The use of additional safety equipment is recommended. The skate park has protective gear, including helmets, elbow and knee pads, and wrist guards, available for rent.

The Skate Park is located at 510 South Frederick Avenue, behind the Activity Center at Bohrer Park and next to Gaithersburg High School. Admission to the Skate Park is free.
