Gaithersburg, Rockville and Takoma Park Elections Take Place Nov. 3

sidebar vote 2015.fwThe cities of Gaithersburg, Rockville and Takoma Park will hold elections Tuesday, Nov. 3rd. Polls in all three cities will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Gaithersburg
Gaithersburg voters will cast their ballots for Mayor, to fill the balance of the term of former Mayor Sidney Katz, and three at-large members of the City Council.

Jud Ashman, Darline Bell-Zuccarelli and Henry Marraffa are candidates for the position of Mayor. Neil Harris, Laurie-Anne Sayles, Ryan Spiegel and Robert Wu are candidates for the three City Council positions. The Mayor elected in 2015 will serve a two-year term; the Council Members will each serve the community at-large for a four-year term.

City residents who are registered to vote in Montgomery County are automatically registered to vote in city of Gaithersburg elections. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

Rockville
Residents are electing a Mayor and four Councilmembers.

Bridget Donnell Newton and Sima Osdoby are candidates for Mayor. Beryl Feinberg, Richard Gottfried, David Hill, Brigitta Mullican, Virginia Onley, Julie Palakovich Carr, Mark Peirzchala, Clark Reed and Patrick Schoof are candidates for the four council seats. The Mayor and Council will serve a four year term for the first time in city history.

Residents who live within Rockville’s corporate limits and are registered to vote may vote in the City of Rockville election. Rockville is divided into ten voting districts.

The city offers same-day voter registration for eligible residents who are not yet registered to vote at City Hall. Those residents can register and cast their vote at City Hall on Election Day. Find information on this here.

Takoma Park
The city of Takoma Park will be casting their votes for Mayor and Councilmembers for all six wards.

Warren Holmes and Kate Stewart are candidates for Mayor.

Takoma Park has six wards, each represented by a councilmember. Ward 1 candidates for councilmember are Peter Kovar, Victor Thuronyi and Elizabeth F. Wallace. Ward 2 candidate is Tim Male, Ward 3 candidate is Rizzy Qureshi, Ward 4 candidate is Terry Seamens, Ward 5 candidate is Jarrett Smith, Ward 6 candidate is Fred Schultz.

Residents who live within Takoma Park’s corporate limits are eligible to vote in the City of Takoma Park election. Polling will take place at the Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Avenue. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
