There is now more parkland in the city of Gaithersburg.

That’s because MedImmune has conveyed a 6.5 acre parcel of land, known as the Meadows and located along Orchard Ridge Drive and adjacent to the Quince Orchard Park community, for use as parkland.

In addition, city officials said MedImmune has contributed $200,000 towards park improvements.

According to City Attorney Lynn Board, the dedication of the parkland and payment were two of the conditions imposed by an amendment to an annexation agreement between the two parties that was approved earlier this year.
