Gaithersburg City Police Crime Summary

Gaithersburg Police reminds residents that thefts from cars are crimes of opportunity. They ask residents to help them in deterring such crimes by locking all doors and hiding items of value from vehicles. Incidents in the city can be seen here.

Monday, Jan. 15, at 4:06 p.m.: A theft of an auto part was reported in the 900 block of Clopper Road. Someone stole a registration plate.

Sunday, Jan. 14, at 10:43 p.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 300 block of Market Street West.

Sunday, Jan. 14, at 3:20 p.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 700 block of Russell Avenue. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed shoes.

Saturday, Jan. 13, at 9:59 a.m.: Two thefts from autos were reported in the Windjammer Way area. Someone entered two vehicles, one unlocked and one by smashing the passenger window. Items taken include clothing, a bag, cash and wallet.

Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11:27 a.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 900 block of Hillside Lake Terrace. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed tools.

Saturday, Jan. 13, at 12:58 a.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 100 block of Garth Terrace. Someone entered the vehicle and removed checkbooks.

Saturday, Jan. 8, at 6:32 p.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 600 block of South Frederick Avenue. Someone entered a vehicle and removed a laptop.

Monday, Jan. 8, at 9:58 a.m.: A commercial burglary was reported in the 600 block of South Frederick Avenue. Someone entered through an unlocked window but removed no property. This is an ongoing investigation by the Gaithersburg Police.

Saturday, Jan. 6: A theft from an auto was reported in the 1300 block of Carlsbad Drive. Sometime between Jan. 3 and Jan. 6, someone entered a vehicle and removed miscellaneous property.

Thursday, Jan. 4: A theft from an auto was reported in the unit block of Bralan Court. Sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 4, someone stole a registration plate.

Thursday, Jan. 4: A theft from an auto was reported in the 500 block of Quince Orchard Road. On Dec. 31, someone removed vehicle parts.

Thursday, Jan. 4, at 11:44 a.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 16400 block of Shady Grove Road. Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed miscellaneous property.

Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 12:32 p.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 300 block of Copley Place. Someone entered a vehicle and removed miscellaneous items.

Tuesday, Jan. 2: A theft from an auto was reported in the unit block of Prairie Rose Court. Someone stole a registration plate from a vehicle.

Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 10:13 p.m.: A theft from an auto was reported in the 100 block of Teachers Way. Someone stole a registration plate from a vehicle.
