Gabriel Kahane & Rob Moose Duo at Strathmore (Video)

Strathmore’s Music in the Mansion series concludes this month with songwriter Gabriel Kahane and Rob Moose Duo on April 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Gabriel Kahane made his solo debut last spring at Carnegie Hall in the premiere of his epic musical travelogue, Gabriel’s Guide to the 48 States, accompanied by Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Commissioned by ensembles ranging from Kronos Quartet to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Kahane has simultaneously asserted himself as a songwriter with his acclaimed sophomore release, Where are the Arms. Violinist and guitarist Rob Moose, a member of the multiple Grammy-winning band Bon Iver and co-founder of the new music outfit yMusic, joins his friend and cohort for an intimate evening of Gabriel’s songs in arrangements that are at once spare, intricate, and emotionally direct.
