G-8 Summit Information

Logo for G-8 Summit in Frederick, MarylandThe Frederick County G-8 Summit Information Center has announced operational hours for the non-emergency call center, which may be reached at 301.600.3000. The center will be staffed by community partners who are coordinating their resources and skills to host the Information Center.

The call center will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 18-20, from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Residents who cannot find answers online or in media reports may call the information line for details regarding road closures, traffic congestion and public safety issues. As an alternative, the information center may be reached via e-mail at jic@FrederickCountyMD.gov.

The Information Center will post notices at G-8 Frederick. Residents are also encouraged to “like” the Information Center on G-8 Summit on Facebook and follow the center on G-8 Frederick on Twitter.

Road closures, traffic congestion and delays are expected throughout the weekend. For specific questions about road closures contained in Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin Mountain Park, call the Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center at 301.663.9388. Both parks will be closed to public access during the G-8 Summit. Media is asked to call the Department of Natural Resources Office of Communications at 410.260.8002.

In the interest of public safety, citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agency or call 9-1-1; remember, “If you see something, say something.”
