Franklin School Re-elects President Obama
The vote is in at The Franklin Schools in Rockville. The mock election for students ages two through six was held on Nov. 1.
President Barack Obama has been re-elected in a landslide with 67% of the vote, according to election results.
The children discussed the election and viewed photos of the candidates in preparation of casting their votes. Red and blue arrows led the students to Franklin’s polling place, Liberty Hall, where they selected either a blue or a red ballot to “seal the fate of the country!”
Upon exiting the polls, each child proudly wore a sticker that said: “I voted at Franklin!”
This is truly a trail blazing exercise, teaching the citizens of tomorrow the importance of casting a ballot if you want your voice heard! I am the proud parent of a Franklin school teacher-Intern Nichelle and Krishav’s and Suhani’s grandmother! I’m curious who they voted for….are they allowed to tell??? It would be good to know how each child made the choice they did to see Mr. Obama re-elected. Way to go Franklin school!
Thank you for your comment. It is our understanding from the school that Mr. Obama received 163 votes and Mr. Romney received 82 votes. The Kindergartners are verifying the vote tomorrow in class.
I agree… Franklin school and the teachers r truly amazing. My child did tell me who he voted for and why. The funny thing is he even told me who Krishav voted for 🙂
What a great exercise! My daughter attends Franklin and was very excited about voting yesterday.
