Franchot Events Among Upcoming Political Fundraisers
Takoma resident Peter Franchot, the Democrat who serves as Maryland’s comptroller, has two receptions planned in the coming weeks.
One is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Chesapeake Brewing Company, 114 West St., Annapolis. The second is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 13, at Black Ankle Vineyards, Mount Airy.

Franchot has not filed for re-election, according to online Maryland State Board of Elections records.
Other events are:
District 14 Delegate Pam Queen (D) holds a fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Sandy Spring Museum, 17901 Bentley Road, Sandy Spring. Tickets $50 and up. Queen has filed for re-election, according to online records.
Chris Wilhelm, Democratic at-large candidate for Montgomery County Council holds a petition launch party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Bump ‘n’ Grind, 1200 East West Highway, Silver Spring. Suggested donation: $10. Wilhelm has not filed his candidacy, but he has filed papework to use the public financing fund, according to online records.
Gov. Larry Hogan (R) holds a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Congressional Country Club, 8500 River Road, Bethesda. Hogan has not filed for re-election, according to online records.
Ben Shnider, Democratic District3 candidate for County Council, holds a campaign kick-off from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave., Rockville. Shnider has filed to run in the race.
Councilmember Nancy Navarro (D) holds a campaign kick-off at 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at El Andariego, 5 Olney Sandy Spring Road, Ashton. Navarro has filed for re-election and to use the public financing option, according to online records.
