Four Students Promoted to Eagle Scout (Photo)

Gaithersburg Boy Scout Troop 1760 honored four new Eagle Scouts at a Court of Honor ceremony on April 20 at the First Baptist Church of Gaithersburg. The four students are Noah Blaker, Clayton Palmer, Alexander Palmrose and Vincent Romano. Only four percent of scouts attain Eagle Scout which is the highest rank of the Boy Scouts of America. County Executive Ike Leggett attended the ceremony.

Blaker, a junior at Poolesville High School, earned 31 merit badges and completed his service project, which included the design and construction of a 340-foot stone path around the exterior of Congregation B’nai Tzedek in Potomac.

Palmer, a senior at Quince Orchard High School, earned 32 merit badges. His service project included overseeing and removing protective plastic sleeves from seedling trees planted at Patuxent River State Park in Woodbine.

Palmrose earned 24 merit badges. The Quince Orchard senior’s service project incorporated recruiting volunteers and clearing the Washington Canoe Club’s fence line of weeds and debris, then installing gravel at the fence line.

Romano, a senior at Northwest High School, earned 27 merit badges. For his service project, Romano oversaw and helped remove protective plastic sleeves from seedling trees planted on the Greenway Trail in Darnestown.
