Four Montgomery County Nursing Homes Rated ‘Best’ By U.S. News & World Report
U.S. News and World Report designated four Montgomery County nursing with its “Best” rating: Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville, Ingleside at King Farm in Rockville, Maplewood Park Place in Bethesda, and Riderwood Village in Silver Spring.
In addition to these four nursing homes, Brighton Garden Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda and Manor Care Health Services in Wheaton also received a “High-Performing” in short-term and long-term rehabilitation and care designation, according to U.S. News’ independent research by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The CMS collects data to evaluate how well each nursing home handles staffing, patient outcomes, facility complaints, and rehabilitation therapy for short-term care. The CMS rates long-term care by staffing, adherence to best practices in preventive care and resident safety, and minimizing the need for and use of anti-anxiety or hypnotic medications.
The U.S News Best Nursing Homes July 2020 report stated that only 21% of 15,404 nursing homes evaluated received a rating of High-Performing in Short-Term Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or both. There were 2,362 rated as “Best Nursing Homes: Short-Term Rehabilitation and 1,623 as “Best Nursing Homes: Long-Term Care.” There were only 708 rated as both.
