Four of the 10 Most Diverse Cities in America are in Montgomery County

According to a study by Wallet Hub, four of the top 10 culturally diverse cities in the country are in Montgomery County, outranking New York City, Boston and Los Angeles.

Wallet Hub recently released a study that ranked four Montgomery County cities as most diverse in the Country. The finance website placed Gaithersburg, Germantown, Silver Spring, and Rockville in its top ten “2018’s Most Diverse Cities in America” list.

The personal finance website compared 501 of the largest U.S. cities using three indicators: ethnicity and race, language and birthplace.

According to the 2018 findings, Jersey City, New Jersey is the most diverse city in the country.

Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Silver Spring followed at number two, three and four, respectively. The city of Rockville is also on the list at number nine.

Interestingly enough, when comparing diversity in small cities, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Silver Spring and Rockville are ranked number one through four, respectively.

The top 10 most diverse cities in America were in order Jersey city, N.J., Gaithersburg, Md., Germantown, Md., Silver Spring, Md., Spring Valley, Nev., New York, N.Y., Oakland, Calif., San Jose, Calif., Rockville, Md., and Kent, Wash.

    Only problem with the story is that Silver Spring and Germantown are Census designated places NOT incorporated cities.
