Former Employee of Potomac Restaurant Arrested for Threatening Owner Who Hung Israeli Flag

UPDATED 9:45 a.m., Aug. 27- The woman wanted for allegedly making anti-Semitic threats to her former Potomac boss turned herself in to Takoma Park Police  Tuesday night, according to police.

Amber Denise Edmond, 30 of Beltsville, was taken to the Central Processing Unit and is charged with telephone misuse and obstructing the free exercise of religious beliefs by threat of force.

A Beltsville woman is wanted by police for what they are calling an obstruction of the free exercise of religious beliefs by  allegedly threatening the owner of a Potomac restaurant who had an Israeli and American flag hanging outside of it.

Police said former Benny’s Bar and Restaurant employee Amber Denise Edmond,  30, of Beltsville, called the owner of the restaurant at 7747 Tuckerman Lane in Potomac on his cell phone from a blocked number on Aug. 7 at about 2:41 a.m. and allegedly made threats to harm him and made anti-Semitic remarks. Police claim Edmond told the owner to take his Israeli flag down from his restaurant. Police said she called a second time at 2:45 a.m. the same day.

Using phone records, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Edmond, according to a police news release. Detectives have obtained for warrant for Edmond’s arrest. Edmond has knowledge of the warrant and investigators are attempting to make arrangements with her to turn herself into police. She is wanted for telephone misuse and obstructing the free exercise of religious beliefs by threat of force.
