Food Truck Cookoff to Benefit MUM

Dozens of the area’s favorite food trucks will participate in the Curbside Cookoff Food Truck Festival on September 28. Members of the District/Maryland/Virginia Food Truck Association will be dishing out some of the region’s best barbeque, crab cakes, cheesecakes and other items. A live broadcast by CBS radio, a craft beer garden featuring more than two dozen specialty beers, as well as giveaways and contests will be part of this day long event.

The Curbside Cookoff will take place at Wheaton Triangle, Saturday, September 28 from noon to 8 p.m. Get event details here.

The Wheaton Urban District and the District/Maryland/Virginia Food Truck Association (DVM FTA) are co-sponsoring this event which will benefit Mid-County United Ministries (MUM), a Wheaton charity that helps people in crisis with food, medicine, eviction prevention and utilities restoration.

“Wheaton is a community known for its incredible food offerings from around the world,” said Food Truck Association chairman Doug Povich. “We are very excited to partner with the Wheaton Urban District in the Curbside Cookoff and bring our food trucks to this great and diverse restaurant community.” The Curbside Cookoff Food Truck Festival series is the signiture event of the Food Truck Association, a group of more than 70 local food truck owner-operators working to sustain the well being of their industry and foster a sense of community.
