Montgomery County has temporarily closed its Flower Avenue Liquor and Wine store in Silver Spring after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement from the county.

Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) learned of the diagnosis Wednesday and immediately closed the store, according to the county, and the employee’s last day of work was Monday. The county said the liquor store will undergo a deep cleaning before reopening.

Also Wednesday, the Clarksburg Village Liquor and Wine store resumed business after it closed Jan. 11 following an employee’s COVID-19 diagnosis. The store, on Chestnut Branch Way, had to remain closed due to staffing shortages caused by employees having to quarantine, the county said.
