Floreen to Hold Forum For HOAs on Oct. 23
Councilmember Nancy Floreen will host an informational forum for the leaders of homeowner associations and condominium owner organizations on October 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Rockville . A pre-meeting reception will begin at 7 p.m.
The forum will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. The reception will be held in the cafeteria on the second floor.
The event will feature an informal discussion where leaders can bring their most vexing questions and best ideas for improving the county. Expected topics of discussion likely will include how the county’s zoning code rewrite might affect individual neighborhoods; transportation projects that would ease congestion in specific areas; and how to express opinions on local development.
“People who are involved in their homeowner or condo associations are connected with their community in a unique and highly localized way,” said Councilmember Floreen, who chairs the Council’s Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee. “They provide a great benefit to their neighborhoods, and I want to make sure they have the tools they need to continue to make meaningful impacts.”
Representatives from the County’s Planning Board, the Department of Transportation, Office of Consumer Protection, the Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Regional Services Centers and other County departments and agencies will be available to answer questions and hear residents’ views.
For more information about the forum or to RSVP, call 240.777.7959 or e-mail Councilmember Floreen.
