Flooding Closes Flora Singer Elementary School Today

UPDATED Montgomery County Public Schools officials have announced that Flora Singer Elementary School in Silver Spring is closed today because of a flooding issue in the building.

“The principal has been focused this morning on making sure that parents are notified as quickly as possible,” said Dana Tofig, MCPS spokesperson, in an email. “It appears, at least initially, that a coupler on a water pipe leaked. Students had not begun arriving yet. If students arrive at the school, they will be supervised until an adult can be reached.”

Flora Singer ES is CLOSED today (May 6) due to flooding in the building.
