2. The state superintendent has denied a Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) request for a snow day waiver.

3. The Montgomery County Council meets today and the redevelopment of Wheaton is on the elected leaders agenda. Also today, County Executive Ike Leggett will celebrate National Service Recognition Day.

4. Local leaders will take part in a state roundtable on minimum wage.

5. Quince Orchard Road remains closed at Hillstone Road because of a retaining wall collapse in the Kentlands community.
