1. Broad Acres Elementary School is going to be renamed in honor of its former principal.

2. A ribbon-cutting and open house is planned for the Metropolitan Ballet and Theatre Academy today.

3. It’s an early release day for Montgomery County Public Schools students.

4. Montgomery Community Media has produced a new documentary, “Back on Track,” that highlights an authentic learning project at Stedwick Elementary School, where students in Ms. McGinn’s third grade class have produced an original opera.

5. Traffic and redevelopment of the golf course were two of the hot topics discussed at a standing-room only community meeting in Montgomery Village this week.
