1. Deputy Secretary of Commerce for the State of Maryland Benjamin Wu headlines this month’s Small Business University event at Montgomery Community Media today at 8 a.m.

2. Montgomery County’s First Lady, Catherine Leggett has been named Peacemaker of the Year for 2016 by the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC). She will be honored tonight at CRCMS’s 15th Annual Peacemaker Gala Awards banquet.

3. Montgomery County Police Captain Tom Didone will provide an update on pedestrian and bicycle collision trends at a news conference today. 

4. The Muslim Community Center’s Young Adults & Professionals is hosting a discussion tonight about election 2016. The topic: Trump vs. Clinton, Should Muslims Vote?

5. Silver Spring Town Center, Inc. will feature a screening of Veterans’ Stories: Through the Eyes of Those Who Were There tonight at 7 p.m. for its Film and Lecture series. Director Yehuda Goldman will hold a discussion during the event.
