Here are your five things to know today, Nov. 20, in Montgomery County:
1. The Metro Board of Directors has appointed Paul Wiedefeld as General Manager and CEO, and he says safety is his top priority. His first day is Nov. 30th.
2. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett has released the county’s list of state priorities, and in a county news release Leggett makes it clear that he opposes any attempts to privatize the Department of Liquor Control.
3. It’s National Adoption Month. Today, Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Callahan will preside over an adoption ceremony for 14 children.
4. Pike and Rose will hold its Holiday Light Spectacular tonight led by Karl Alzner, defenseman for the Washington Capitals.
