1. Montgomery County’s offices and libraries are closed today in observance of Veterans Day. Find out what’s open and what’s not, here.
2. The city of Gaithersburg hosts its annual Veterans Day observance at 11 a.m. at the City Hall Concert Pavilion with a wreath-laying ceremony. The ceremony will be followed by a reception at City Hall.
3. In Rockville, local leaders invite you to join them at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park for the city’s annual Veterans Day observance, which includes a 21-gun salute and wreath-laying ceremony.
4. Captain Florent Groberg, a Walter Johnson graduate, will receive the Medal of Honor at a ceremony tomorrow at the White House.
5. Montgomery County’s salute to its Vietnam veterans, Honor and Gratitude, is being broadcast today on Montgomery Channel 21 at 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. You can also watch the program on demand, here.
