1. County officials are inviting the public to a ribbon-cutting, today, at the new Scotland Neighborhood Recreation Center. Later today, officials are going to break ground for the Ross Boddy Neighborhood Recreation Center.

2. The race for Governor is reportedly tightening and Montgomery County is important to the candidates. Republican gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan will be campaigning at the Rockville Farmers Market and the Kentlands Farmers Market today in Montgomery County this morning. Look for Anthony Brown, the Democrat gubernatorial candidate, in Bethesda and Wheaton tomorrow.

3. When it comes to final numbers for the turnout during early voting, Montgomery County was near the bottom of the state.

4. Gas prices are falling in Maryland and across the country.

5. Reminder, set your clock back an hour at 2 a.m. on Nov. 2 for Daylight Saving Time. Firefighters say this is also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.
