1. Meeting the press: County Council President Roger Berliner holds his weekly meeting with reporters at 11:30 a.m.
2. Staying active: The Active Aging Expo runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg. Put on by Asbury Methodist Village, the event is free. Here is the schedule of events.
3. Housing: The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council has a worksession on its Housing Initiative Fund starting at 7:30 p.m.
4. How green was my soccer field: A new exhibit at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds provides all you need to know to keep your grass its greenest.
5. Honoring Leotta: The second-annual Montgomery County Public Safety Mayday Event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Fillmore Silver Spring. The event honors the memory of Police Officer Noah Leotta, who was only 24 when he was struck and killed by a drunken driver while on duty. Tickets $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
Save the date: On June 8, Montgomery Community Media recognizes and celebrates outstanding multimedia content in the first ever EPIC Awards. The awards ceremony takes place at The Fillmore in Silver Spring.
