1. Police are investigating a rape that occurred along the Northwest branch Trail in Silver Spring on Monday afternoon.

2. The Montgomery County Council meets today and one of the items on the agenda is a resolution urging the Maryland District Court to increase fines for drivers caught illegally passing stopped school buses by cameras mounted on the buses to $250.

3. Election 2014: Voters go to the polls in Chevy Chase today.

4. A Silver Spring student has been named a finalist in the Google Doodle contest.
