1. It’s Older Americans Month and the Active Aging Expo takes place today at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg.
2. The Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council meet tonight and on the elected leaders’ agenda is a contract for a synthetic turf field at Lakelands Park and the Crown Farm school site deed.
3. Governor Martin O’Malley will sign the state’s new minimum wage law today and County Executive Ike Leggett will be in Annapolis for the event.
4. It’s Cinco de Mayo and a networking mixer is planned tonight in Silver Spring.
5. The Montgomery County Council continues its work on the budget today. Council President Craig Rice will also meet with the media to provide updates on the Council’s progress.
