3. Flags will fly at half staff today in Maryland in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

4 Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission crews are showing off the new 5.3 mile bi-county tunnel deep below the surface of Montgomery County. The 5.3 mile long pipe will be filled with hundreds of millions of gallons of water when it opens next year.

5. Volunteers are gearing up for the Gaithersburg Book Festival, which is scheduled on the grounds at City Hall (just two days away!) on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and it’s all free.
