1. Commencement ceremonies: It’s graduation day for the Class of 2016 at Blake, Kennedy, Poolesville and Sherwood high schools.

2. Vote: It’s Election Day in the town of Kensington.

3. Making a difference: The Neediest Kids Golf Tournament takes place today at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm.

4. Montgomery Plans: The Rock Spring Master Plan and White Flint 2 Sector Plan teams are holding a community meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at Luxmanor Elementary School tonight. The purpose of this forum is to update residents on the progress of the two master plans.

5. Author talk: You can meet award-winning author Alice McDermott, who is lecturing about the craft of writing at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda tonight. This event is part of the 40th anniversary celebration of The Writer’s Center. Tickets are $15 for nonmembers, and $10 for members.
