1. Bethesda Downtown Plan: There’s a public hearing today on the draft of the Bethesda Downtown Plan at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center.

2. Gaithersburg Police Foundation Fundraiser: Show your support for the Gaithersburg Police Foundation by shopping at the Kentlands Whole Foods Market, at 316 Kentlands Blvd. today.  Whole Foods will donate 5 percent of the day’s sales to the Foundation.

3. Prayer Vigil for Charleston: The Black Ministers Conference, The Human Rights Commission, The Montgomery County Office of Community Partnerships of Montgomery County are leading a prayer vigil in Silver Spring for the nine victims of the church shooting in Charleston at noon today.

4. Small Business Awards: Danny Farrar, CEO and Co-Founder of Montgomery County-based company SoldierFit will be the keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual Montgomery County Small Business Awards ceremony at the North Bethesda Marriott and Conference Center today.

5. Cameras on Cops: Today is the deadline for Montgomery County Police officers to add their name to the list of volunteers who will soon wear body worn cameras on the job.
