1. Weather Alert: The remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy are expected to move into our area today and tomorrow.
2. Books Alive: The city of Gaithersburg is launching a new preschool program that features theater, storytelling, music, crafts and the natural world to promote literacy. Today’s program, “A Musical Adaption of Spinky Sulks” takes place from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Constitution Gardens at 112 Brookes Avenue.
3. LEGO lovers: If you are looking for something to do inside today with the kids, there are several LEGO events happening at library branches across Montgomery County, including Chevy Chase, Damascus, Gaithersburg, Olney and Twinbrook.
4. Into the Woods: Montgomery College’s Summer Dinner Theatre opens the season this evening with this Tony award-winning play, about a couple who want to have a child but are cursed by a witch.
5. Bark in the Park: The Town of Poolesville is hosting a cute dog contest from 6 – 9 p.m. at Whalen Commons.
