Five Things to Know Today, June 10th, in Montgomery County

fiveIt’s going to be a nice day but there’s a heat wave on the horizon. Here are five more things to know today, June 10th, in Montgomery County:

1. Silver Spring Transit Center: Remediation work at the Silver Spring Transit Center is scheduled to be completed this week and officials say the facility will be turned over to WMATA next month.

2. Body Worn Cameras: Montgomery County Police are asking for 80 more volunteers to pilot the department’s body worn cameras program. Training for the first 20 volunteers begins tomorrow.

3. County Council on Location:  The Montgomery County Council is scheduled to meet with seniors at Leisure World today.

4. Interfaith Forum: The Montgomery County Public Schools community is invited to attend the Honoring Religious Diversity forum today at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Rockville.

5. Graduation Day: Commencement ceremonies take place today for students at the Longwood School and Blake and Northwood high schools.
