Here are five things to know today, Jan. 12, in Montgomery County:
1. The East Bethesda Citizens Association and Coalition of Bethesda Area residents are hosting the Maryland Municipal League for an informational meeting about what it would take to incorporate. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase high school cafeteria.
2. Montgomery County police and firefighters are helping Washington, D.C. authorities with safety and security during the inauguration next week.
3. Montgomery Parks is touting Little Bennett Campground and Rockwood Manor as places to stay for visitors in town for the inauguration.
4. Inauguration Day is at the top of the Planning Board agenda today. Other items include a new Buddhist temple, a Burtonsville Starbucks drive-thru, and a public hearing for the White Flint 2 Sector Plan.
5. The opening reception for the exhibit, Post Memory Photographs of a Certain Place & Time, takes place tonight at the Betty Mae Kramer gallery in Silver Spring.
